Will Glutathione Make Liver Healthy Or Protected From The Disease If One Takes A Bottle Of Beer Daily?

if person has the habit & would like supplement to protect his liver, is it advisable to take glutathione, as we would w/ vitamins to keep us well & increase our resistance to diseases? several recommendation from med reps & dermatologic doctors but could not decide as i am not familiar w/ it & advise for them to search as i am doing, but said they have no time. they are afraid that since it is a new product, & later adverse effect would be discovered. we are very interested so i hope u could help since you dont endorse the product, it is safe that you are not biased.

You’d be best to advise the person to reduce his beer intake.
However, if he insists on taking alcohol on a regular basis, there are a number of supplements that would help and be protective:
Thiamine
Multivitamins (esp B group)
Co-Enzyme Q
Taking oral glutathione is a waste of time. It is poorly absorbed. If you wish to maximise the glutathione production of your hepatocytes you would actually be much better to take N-acetyl cysteine or perhaps Methionine
