Wondering What Everyone Thinks.?

Do you think it’s hipocritical for people to say it’s horrible for people with darker skin to use things to get lighter when white people don’t get any flack for tanning to get darker? I think it is. I don’t mind people doing either one. I think pale skin, dark skin, and all the colors in between are beutiful. They can both make you look better if done in moderation or in the right amount or they can make you look nasty if you do too much. P.S. I’m not talking about hardcore bleaching to your skin (dangerous!) i’m talking about creams or glutathione pills that just even you tone and may make you a few shades lighter.) Or when black people get nose jobs, even if it doesn’t make their noses “european”, people tell them that they’re getting rid of their “ethnic identity” but everyone else can get nose jobs and no one cares! I think people should be able to do what they want! What do you think?

  1. I agree; I think that since less people use skin-lightening treatments, it isn’t accepted as much in society, whereas it is perfectly normal for people to go tanning. I think it’s unfair that blacks who want to use skin-lightening treatments are slammed for not “staying true to themselves” when other people who go tanning at tanning salons get compliments on their skin.

  2. yeah in a way…it’s just people are so use to people with light skin and not vice versa so it seems kinda strange to me when i see a question that says “How can i get lighter skin” and the person is black but i understand what u are saying and i agree that people shouldn’t just think something is wrong when a person wants a nose job or wants lighter skin.

  3. there really shouldn’t be a double standard. do what pleases you!
