Skin Lightening/whitening: What Worked For You?

I went to Ulta and asked if they had any skin lightening creams. They only had a few things for freckles, but I am beyond freckles. I’ve been living in Canada and just moved back to Texas. My face, arms, and neck are now a sort of splotchy-red-and-tan sort of Fail Tan. The rest of my body is still rather light. Totally my bad for not wearing sunscreen until it was too late.
I want my arms/neck/face to match the rest of me again.
I don’t want to go to a tanning booth and tan, because first of all I don’t want a tan. Really. I much prefer the porcelain look. Also because I tried tanning booths once in high school and learned that my upper body will tan in an awkward way and my legs do not tan at ALL. Because I am some kinda skin freak, lol!!
Soooo the gal at Ulta recommended using peroxide on my tanned areas before getting into a shower (letting the peroxide sit a few minutes first) and following it with exfoliation. (And of course, wearing sunscreen daily before leaving the house. Gotta get back in the habit, didn’t need that so much in Canada).
So, aside from:
daily sunscreen (I bought some banana boat today)
peroxide (going to see if that works) & exfoliation
What (natural or manufactured) products have any of you used in the past to clear away freckles or weird tans (that actually worked)?

  1. There’s a product line called Fair and Flawless, it’s a skin care line that specializes in skin lightening/whitening. They have a variety of products that I think may work for you, and give you what you are looking for.
My recommendation for you would be to take a look at their site, and choose the best product for what you want. Here is a link to the site: http://www.fairandflawlessskin.com/skin-… I gave you the link to the skin lightening section, because I think that’s probably your best bet.
    Hope this is helpful.

  2. there’s nothing wrong with freckles, they are beautiful, and peroxide is toxic and HARMFUL, why would you put it on your skin!??
The best thing is to exfoliate well and I’ve had good results with Dove or Jergen’s skin tone-evening lotions (though you for some reason want to look pale).
It will take longer, but do it the natural way with exfoliation and sunscreen – please don’t bleach your skin – if it’s not good for clothes than why would it be good for your skin?
