Question by loni_831: Is there a difference between n-acetyl cysteine and l-cystein, or are they the same thing?
If there is a difference which would you suggest i take in order to help raise intracellular glutathione levels as much as i possibly can

Best answer:

Answer by David M
N-acetyl cysteine is an N-acylated derivative of cysteine so, no, they are not the same thing. To answer your 2nd question, N-acetyl cysteine will increase your glutathione levels the most. See below…

Cysteine is a precursor to the liver detoxifying and antioxidant amino acid glutathione. This functionality provides an anti-aging effect on the body—even reducing the accumulation of age spots. Another impressive function is the break down of mucus in the respiratory tract which can help in bronchitis, emphysema, and tuberculosis.

N-acetylcysteine is the best form of cysteine supplementation and has been proven more effective at increasing glutathione levels than supplements of glutathione itself, or supplements of just L-cysteine.

Question by happygolucky: When do you need to replace your facial moisturizer? When do they expire?
i bought Aveeno pos. radiant moisturizer with SPF for my face which has dry skin. Lately I notice “pill” of moisturizer coming out of the pump along with normal liquid moisturizer. They feel kind of plasticy but can be rubbed down into the moisturizer. Does this mean I should buy a new one? How can you tell when it’s time to replace it?

Best answer:

Answer by Nicki S
it sounds like the hard bits could be the bit exposed to the air on the tip of the pump, rinse it with water first.
I trend to keep moisturisers for 3-6 months maximum depending upon where I have purchased them from. Buy smaller bottles to prevent wasting half of it if concerned about it expiring

If you are suffering from hyperpigmentation problems such as freckles, dark spots on face, melasma, dark underarms, legs, knees, thighs or elbows, age spots, dark neck, or just uneven skin tone, then you’ll know that using most skin whitening products can be very disappointing and absolutely no fun at all. Spending a small fortune on products that promise the Earth, but seeing little or no results can be heart breaking. For everybody in the world who wants fairer skin for whatever reason, you will probably do anything to achieve the results you are looking for, but you need to proceed with caution, as most of the skin whitening products available online can do more harm than good. There are a huge and confusing number of skin whitening products out there, ranging from creams, lotions, soaps, pills and even cosmetic treatments, but which ones actually work, which ones are safe and are they worth the money? With so many skin whitening products available on the market today, it is easy to get confused with all the glossy Internet, TV and magazine advertising that you are continually being bombarded with. They can’t even decide what to call it. Is it skin whitening, skin bleaching or skin lightening? The fact is, they’re all different words for really saying the same thing. Skin bleaching, for example, may be a different process than skin lightening, but at the end of the day, it’s all about lightening your skin. Now there are many companies out there who produce a number of products for achieving lighter skin, and some are better than others at removing dark circles, skin discoloration, acne, freckles etc. to get the perfect skin you want, and there is also a lot of hype. Whether you want to lighten your skin for medical, self-esteem or simply aesthetic reasons, it is important to make sure you use the right skin whitening products that actually work and do not harm or rip you off.Choosing the wrong product, ones that have been manufactured with some dangerous components such as hydroquinone or mercury for example, can be very harmful to you, and you need to take care with the brands of skin whitening products you use to ensure they are safe for your skin and don’t have any nasty side effects, as some of these products have been linked to skin cancer, skin diseases and premature ageing, so some caution is required.A good advice is to make sure you only listen to someone with experience and who has personally tried and tested the best skin whitening products that actually work. A few good brands of skin whitening products include Diana Stalder Skin Whitening Products, Dermaline Skin Whitening Products, and Glutathione Skin Whitening Pills and more information about these and every aspect of skin whitening can be found on the authors website below (see author’s box). So, are skin whitening products worth it? Well, they are if you use the right ones, and have all the facts before making your decision. I wish you the very best of luck and hope you achieve the goal you are looking for.

Article by Alicia Green

Skin whitening pills have drawn the hopes and interest of sufferers of hyperpigmentation problems, such as melasma, acne scars, dark patches and age spots. They’ve also drawn the attention of people who want to lighten their overall skin tone. But is there really a skin whitening pill that’s safe, do they really work, or are they just a waste of money?

The truth is that there are safe, natural and effective ways to fade pigmentation without cosmetic surgery. Many of these are relatively unknown. In skin lightening, knowledge is key. Some of these little known ways to lighten pigmentation are topical applications, such as whitening creams, acids, and other solutions to apply to your face – some of which you can even make yourself from ingredients you buy at the grocery store. Others are internal supplements that are known to be effective, such as vitamins and minerals, similar to the idea of taking a skin whitening pill.

However, in my investigation of various skin whitening pills on the market, I have found that most products seem to be making money from customers who aren’t fully informed of the facts.

Some of these pills are based on sulfur, which is what is found in the supplement MSM. You can buy MSM at your local drugstore or search for a deal online. For – you will get yourself a several month supply. MSM is all natural and safe. Because of its sulfur it’s been found to be effective in reducing and fading pigmentation. Obviously, you don’t need to buy an expensive bottle of sulfur pills through an online distributor for to get this effect. Simply do it yourself, and add MSM to your daily routine. You can start with 1-2 grams a day, and as you adjust to it, you can increase your dose to as much as 8 grams a day. These pills will fight and help to reduce your hyperpigmentation and even out your skin tone, they will make your skin healthy, soft and renewed, but they won’t whiten your overall complexion.

Some expensive and exclusive skin whitening pill formulations simply contain antioxidants, vitamins, and some of the natural lightening ingredients you should already be using in your skin whitening cream. Generally these herbs will attack areas of hyperpigmentation, but they won’t whiten the overall complexion. Instead of taking pills like this, I’d recommend making sure you have good vitamin supplements that you take separately, and keeping the bleaching herbs topical by using them in your natural whitening cream instead of taking them internally. It’s simpler, cheaper, safer, and it’s all that’s needed to do the trick. There’s no need to overload your bloodstream and tax your liver with all of these whitening herbs by taking them orally as well.

Other skin whitening pills are based on L-glutathione. The premise is that the side effect of massive doses of L-glutathione is overall skin lightening. It is recommended to take it with high doses of alpha-lipoic acid and Vitamin C. Results vary, and in the process of finding out if this will work for you by taking mega-doses of these supplements, not only will your wallet be lightened, you may become tired, lethargic, and possibly even anemic.

There is no proof that taking this combination truly lightens your skin, and it may be risky to try. Some users have found there to be no visible results, and have simply wasted a lot of time and money to find this out. If you’re searching for a skin whitening pill, don’t be taken in by the hype and possibly pseudo-scientific claims on the product website. Most of what works, you can do yourself, some of what is recommended in skin whitening pills may be risky and harmful to your health, and some just may not work at all.

I’m a blonde-haired, very fair skinned girl and the freckles I’ve gotten from the intense sun here really stand out, and I’d like to bleach them out. Do you think the face wash would help? Will it cause any skin problems? It’s made by recognizable brands like Loreal and Garnier so I don’t think it will like melt my face off. I just don’t want a break out or anything. I just need the freckles to be gone, pronto.
